Branch Transfer: Its a State wise accounting. Tax component on stock should move along with the stock hence, it is important that GST is paid on stock transfers also. Further, in case we need exemption, forms issue will arise which is not good in GST

Under GST the supply chain including the branch transfers will be seen a major makeover. The branch transfer in the interstate arena has no use. On the other hand present tax on manufacture would be shifted from mere removal point till actual supply or actual movement across the state borders.

In Gujarat, there is provision for reversal of input tax credit in case of branch transfer. Now under GST, full input tax credit can be used.
