The Archean Group felt that proper dissemination of information is extremely crucial to manage their multiple branches and businesses through a smooth expansion programme. Their first brush with technology started with Tally, and thus, from then onwards there has been no looking back. In 2002, accounting was upgraded and used for inventory and finance management.

Business Challenges

Rapid changes in the business sector, demanded a holistic approach to manage inventory, finance, sales, purchase, manufacturing and other aspects of the business. “We tried an ERP implementation with SAP but the constraints experienced in the finance and accounting functions marked the end of our SAP experiment in a few years.

The problem was that the employees trained to manage the SAP software moved on and the new recruits were reluctant to use SAP. Despite organising continuous training programmes, we could not overcome the block in the minds of employees. Thus, we decided to switch to an ERP vendor that our employees were more comfortable with and better exposed to,” says Ramesh lyer, general manager, IT, Archean Group. In 2009, the company adopted Tally ERP 9.
